desktop_growthWith apologies to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, using a desktop computer to access the internet is “not dead yet.” A popular chorus among media types has been the mobile web would eat the desktop’s lunch, but a Wall Street Journal story shows going online via desktop might actually be growing:

According to data from comScore, for example, the overall time spent online with desktop devices in the U.S. has remained relatively stable for the past two years. Time spent with mobile devices has grown rapidly in that time, but the numbers suggest mobile use is adding to desktop use, not subtracting from it.

One reason given in the article is that mobile devices “unlock” new times to access the internet in the morning and at night. But most of us are still parked in front of a monitor during our workdays and the overall amount of time being spent online is growing.

That’s why Onehub is continually working to make our experience even better, no matter what device you are working on. In fact you can get still get an advance look at the design changes coming to our site.
